Description
Shunned by the villagers of Abbotsend for his mysterious past and his blood-red eye, Osric has lived a simple life until Norsemen from across the sea ransack the village and take him prisoner. Their chief, Sigurd the Lucky, believes the Norns have woven the boy's fate together with his own, and he forges a blood bond with Osric, renaming him Raven. When Raven accepts a dangerous mission to steal a holy relic from Ealdred of Wessex, he finds an English girl with a soul to match his own - and betrayal at the hands of cruel men, some of whom he regarded as friends.
