Description
Video tour of Asia, tracing the path of merchants who led their treasure-laden camels from one outpost to the next. Begins in Beijing, continues to China's ancient capital of Xian, then to Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Hotan, Kashgar. Next, to Kyrgystan, followed by the cities of Fergana, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukara, and Khiva in Uzbekistan. In Turkmenistan, see Konye-Urgench, Ashkabad, and the ruins of ancient Merv, then cross the Caspian Sea to follow a northern Silk Road route through the TransCaucasus countries of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.
