Description
"In this early film, considered one of the best adaptations of the classic [novel], Seymour Hicks [who] had played Scrooge many times on stage and in early film, and in this version gets every utterance of 'Humbug' just right. It's Christmas Eve in 19th century London, and Scrooge makes life miserable for all those around him, especially his impoverished employee Bob Cratchit. But during the night, three spirits visit Scrooge and show him the error of his ways, and his ultimate end if he does not repent. Scrooge eventually becomes a new man, changing his life forever"--Container.
