Set in Soho, Clem is an ex-serviceman who is fed up after World War II and drawn to the excitement of black-marketeering. His psychopathic sadist gang boss, Narcy, betrays him when he refuses to deal in drugs, taking on an element of revenge.

Cosh boy: A gang of teenage delinguents, led by Roy, is earning money by mugging women on the streets of London.
