A remake of the 1971 cult classic. A former army ranger learns that his pregnant wife has become quite ill while he is a thousand miles away. Without a second thought, he hops into his car and races off to be with her. But following his speeding automobile, a small army of cops grows, at first annoyed at the speed but eventually fearful that his refusal to stop could be a sign of dangerous intentions.

Larry is a small town sheriff who witnesses what he believes is a kidnapping and rushes to rescue the woman. The kidnappers turn out to be FBI agents assigned to protect her and deliver her to a big corporation corruption trial in Chicago. The agents, it turns out, are found to be on the take and are villains who are bent on killing her.
